‘Hyaku-Nen Kan’ is a seismic controlled twelve stories steel-framed building with passive dampers made by low yield point steel. In order to monitor the capacity of these dampers and estimate their soundness after a severe earthquake attack, twelve FBG-based optical fiber displacement sensor modules are attached at the dampers. Total number of 76 sensors including 64 FBG sensors have been installed on the building.
