SHMII 1 in Tokyo, was organized by Professor Zhishen Wu with the full support of Professor Yozo Fujino. The conference celebrates Professor Wu and Professor Fujino’s remarkable as a pioneers of Structural Health Monitoring. Their scientific achievements, visionary leadership, and dedication to fostering international collaboration have left a lasting impact on the global engineering community and continue to inspire innovation in the field. SHMII 1 was foundation on which ISHMII was established.
